Planning Applications & Liaison

We will do all the planning applications with your local authority on your behalf and we are able to advise what projects fall under permitted development and which do not.

Structural Calculations

Mud + Mortar have multiple structural partners that are able to provide all the calculations and reports whilst being readily available to support the build team should any unforeseen circumstances arise. Having a responsive professional team is vital to avoid project time delays.

Building Control Appointment & Liaison

Mud + Mortar use Cook Brown Building Control whom which we have a long-standing relationship with and who offer a great service. We will appoint them on your behalf and once the project is complete, we will issue you the Building Control Certificates.

Construction of your project

Mud + Mortar will assign a project manager for your project who liaises with you throughout each stage. Payment schedules and variations are all tracked weekly to ensure clarity for both parties. Our priority is always to deliver the best value end result to our clients, so if there are opportunities to improve an element of the project, we will give you all the options available.

Handover with full project pack full of useful information

At the end of the project we will send you a handover pack with all the maintenance information and project certificates all in one file!

Most of our clients are not experienced in the world of construction and the red tape that surrounds it. Here are the steps to getting your project started:

  1. Call Mud + Mortar on 0117 450 4815 or email info@mudandmortar.com and arrange for one of the team to do a site visit to discuss your requirements
  2. Appoint Mud + Mortar to do your plan drawings (only required if you are doing an extension, new build or major structural changes) – big refurb projects will also benefit from plan design drawings
  3. Review of plan drawings and make adjustments where required
  4. Apply for planning (if required – you will be advised in step 2 if planning is required for your project)
  5. Building control drawings & appointment of building control
  6. Structural calculations – fee to be confirmed at this stage
  7. Estimate provision from the Mud + Mortar Build Team
  8. Accept estimate, sign contracts, deposit payment and finalise start date
  9. Project Gantt Chart – this will be the project program giving clients a guide on what to expect and when
